With Christmas a few days away here in the West Island, I thought I would say a few words before I head away to eat, drink and celebrate my way into the new year.
To everyone reading, those who follow along with my travels, adventures and writing, thank you for everything. Thank you for all your support. Thank you for your likes, comments, your messages and every piece of feedback you have sent me. It has been amazing and humbling. I want you to know I am thoroughly loving writing and I want to keep doing it, keep learning, and keep getting better.
This year has thrown a lot at me. It sounds like it has been one of those years for a lot of people. I had a few moments this year when I had to throw my hands in the air and scream “Are you fucking serious?” I mean come on, Alan Rickman? David Bowie? However, I have good people who listened, good people who talked, and a few who kicked my ass and told me enough was enough. I have to say I have never felt more excited about the future than I do right now.
I have a lot planned for next year, and I’ll be climbing, surfing, diving and snowboarding my way around the world. In 2017, I look forward to seeing old friends, in whatever far flung corner of the world we see each other. I also look forward to all the new people I will meet. I’m sure they wont all be as weird as I am, but I certainly hope some of them are!
No matter who you are, or where you are from, however we have connected, I wish you all a merry Christmas, happy holidays and much love to you all.
P.S. Die Hard is the best Christmas movie of all time.
